prioritize self care
As women, we often feel like we have to do it all - take care of the kids, manage the household, and work on top of it all. It's no wonder that our own self-care can fall by the wayside. But taking care of ourselves is critical for our own well-being and for our ability to care for others.
That's why I want to encourage you to prioritize your self-care and enlist help from others when you need it.
Here are some tips for enlisting help for self-care
Identify your needs. What kind of self-care do you need right now? Maybe you need some quiet time to read a book, or a yoga class to stretch your body and clear your mind. Once you've identified your needs, think about how others can help you meet those needs.
Communicate your needs. Don't be afraid to ask for help from family, friends, or a babysitter. Let them know what you need and why it's important to you. For example, you could say, "Hey, I could really use an hour to myself to take a yoga class. Would you be able to watch the kids for me?"
Be specific. When you ask for help, be specific about what you need. This will help ensure that your needs are met and that you can fully enjoy your self-care time. For example, you could say, "Could you watch the kids from 9-10 pm on Saturday so that I can go to my yoga class?"
Show gratitude. When someone helps you out, be sure to show your appreciation. Thank them for their time and support, and let them know how much it means to you.
Remember, asking for help is not a sign of weakness - it's a sign of strength. It takes courage to admit that we can't do everything on our own, and enlisting help can actually help us be more effective in all areas of our lives. By prioritizing our own self-care and asking for help when we need it, we can be happier, healthier, and more present for the people we love.
So don't be afraid to ask for help, and don't feel guilty for taking time for yourself. You deserve it!
