It's so easy to get caught up in the external aspects of yoga – the perfect leggings, the mat, the seemingly effortless poses of others in the room. Your mind can be buzzing with to-do lists, worries, and comparisons. I know I've been there!

Lately I've been reflecting on my own "why" for stepping onto the mat. For me, yoga is a sanctuary for my mind. It's a space where I can intentionally quiet the internal chatter and cultivate a sense of inner peace. It's a powerful tool for reducing stress and anxiety, allowing me to navigate the challenges of daily life. When I connect with this "why," it becomes much easier to let go of distractions and truly be present in my practice.

I'm curious about yours. Why do you practice yoga?

Is it for the sense of community we cultivate together in this space? Is it to explore the amazing flexibility and strength your body is capable of? Is it for the overall sense of well-being and vitality it brings? Or perhaps, like me, it's a way to find calm amidst the storm of daily life and reduce stress.

Understanding your personal "why" can be incredibly empowering. It acts as an anchor, reminding you of your intention when your mind starts to wander or when those feelings of self-consciousness creep in. It helps you shift your focus from the external to the internal, making your practice a truly personal and meaningful experience.

This week, I encourage you to take a few moments, either before or during your practice, to connect with your "why." Let it guide you, support you, and help you let go of anything that doesn't serve you on your mat.

Take care of yourself,
