I started You 1st Yoga to remind myself of something simple—but essential:
I have to care for myself first, so I can truly care for the people I love.
A few years ago, my world was turned completely upside down. My husband’s successful business fell apart, leading to financial stress and a deep depression that affected our whole family. At the time, I was a stay-at-home mom to three kids (and three dogs!), suddenly juggling a full-time job on top of every household responsibility.
I was emotionally overwhelmed, constantly worried, and running on empty. The stress, anxiety, loneliness, and deep sense of fear during that season felt like too much to carry—and honestly, I know I’m not the only one who’s ever felt that way.
During that difficult season, I returned to yoga—not just for movement, but for the peace it gave me.
Yoga became my lifeline.
Meditation gave me space to breathe.
And over time, I realized something profound:
Self-care isn’t optional—it’s non-negotiable.
It taught me how to slow down and truly listen.
It taught me patience on the hard days, gratitude in the small moments, and hope when everything felt uncertain.
Most of all, it taught me that I can find peace—no matter what is or isn’t happening around me.
It reminded me that I am worthy of care, rest, and love—even when life feels messy or uncertain.
These are the lessons I now carry with me—and the ones I love sharing with other women who are ready to start putting themselves first again.
That’s why I’m passionate about helping women over 40 who are carrying too much—in their body, mind, heart, and spirit—navigate stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm with compassion and care.
